Subject:trouble saving files

I'm a newbie running Sound Forge 6.0b(build 185) on Windows2000. I'm working on .wav files that are 120MB or less in size. I'm running 3 filters on each file (smooth, -12db volume bump, de-esser). When I try to save the files I get the following error message: "An error occurred while saving one or more files. An error occurred reading the file. Make sure you have read access to the file/folder and that it is not corrupted."

If I try "saving as" another filename, the file saves but the timeline blanks out, and there's no sound left in the new file.

These are relatively small files, certainly not coming near the limit for .wav files. And there's plenty of drivespace available, and there's 512MB RAM on the system.

If anybody can tell me what I'm doing wrong, or what I can do to solve this problem, I'd be grateful.

Thanks,

mick
