Subject:buying sound forge

hello, im considering buying sound forge but need to know if it will seperate mastered tracks into seperate sound tracks. please help. i,ve come across some songs done in acid like the beastie boys "alive" and wondering if sound forge was used. each vocal and inst. were broken down and re-mixed. thank you, kmsl

Sorry, no.

You're not going to find any consumer grade software that can do this. For all practical purposes it's impossible to separate out the separate tracks/instruments/voices from a mixed version. When you see a remix sample at places like acidplanet.com, they've obtained the original multitrack recording from the recording studio.

Those separate tracks were supplied by Beastie Boys/AcidPlanet as part of a contest.
What your asking for can't be done. See FAQ number6.
Also, why don't you download a demo of Sound Forge and see what you can do with it.
For starters, you can manipulate the songs you want, adding EQ, reverb, etc.
