Subject:MIDI off sync - using soft synths - strange playback ..

When I am recording soft synth with Acid 4.0a - they play back in a out of sync manner - the MIDI is not at all what I recorded .. any clues to what might cause this problem? I mean . .cubase hasn't ever given me MIDI problems... :-)
