Automated PLugins List Refresh !!! (BuG !) -ACID Product Family

Posted by: slcrz Date:9/28/2002 12:02:47 PM Another Issue I discoverd Since 4.0 came out is the fact that automated plugins once installed (LIKE GOLD BUNDLE 3.5)don't show up as automated PLugins in the PLugins chooser window(the Icon next to the name shows without the Orange faders on it) as long as u don't use it with an automation, After Using it once in automation, the ICon is changing to the one with the orange faders, and that for each and all individual plugins in the bundle...Plus the other brand plugins u've installed(meaning that does not just happen with the Waves ones) Hope u'll fix that in 4.0b as well.

Reply by: SonyNateM Date:9/30/2002 12:34:38 PM slcrz, The reason that plug-ins do not show up as automatable right off the bat is that there is no safe way for us to probe the plug-in for this functionality at scan time (lest we risk allowing a bad DX plug-in to crash ACID the first time you open it, or every time you make changes to DirectShow and open ACID). For this reason, we only check for these capabilities the first time you use the plug-in, and flag the plug-in as automatable from there on. If this really bothers you, you can simply add all the plug-ins on your machine to a few chains, then remove them, and their icons will all be updated properly. Nate
