5.1 Surround Sound on Acid and Soundblaster 5.1 Sound Card HELP -ACID Product Family

Subject:5.1 Surround Sound on Acid and Soundblaster 5.1 Sound Card HELP Posted by: Explod Date:9/30/2002 4:29:08 PM Hello as you all know, Acid 4 comes with this 5.1 feature well No matter how many different settings I try to change. I wont get the 5.1 Feature to work!! I have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 sound card, and the speakers that "were design for them" 5.1 Creative speakers. Does anyone have the same soundcard and have made it work. or does anyone know how. Thanks!

For the SBLive you may consider obtaining the K-X project drivers. These drivers will expose the ports individually and permit ACID to rout to them. Note that the SBLive does not have 6 discreet outputs. The only way you can truely send 5.1 audio to the SBLive is using a digital AC3 source, which ACID does not do. In the end you would be better served to use an audio card that provides 6 seperate output channels that ACID can directly send audio to. The Creative Audigy does just this with its ASIO drivers. Note that the SBLive does not have 6 discreet outputs. The only way you can truely send 5.1 audio to the SBLive is using a digital AC3 source, which ACID does not do.

In the end you would be better served to use an audio card that provides 6 seperate output channels that ACID can directly send audio to. The Creative Audigy does just this with its ASIO drivers.
