I've started a new project with a loop recorded from an mp3 and 3 drum sounds, with compression on the bus with the drums and on the master. When i try to play this it skips and gaps very badly and then freezes almost every time i hit the stop button. I don't understand because i have another completely finished project that runs fine and is much more complex with many FX and automated filters and everything. I hope someone can help me! |

Rodney, Navigate to the directory the MP3 is stored in in the Acid explorer. Then right-click the file and select "Properties". A list will open. Scroll to the bottom, where it lists the decoder plugin. What is the plugin's title (it will be a name followed by a file, XXXX.dll, wehre XXXX is the filename)? - Nick |

Well, actually the mp3 is one i burned onto a cd, then recorded from the cd into a wav file in Sound Forge. |

What's the sample rate of the loop and your project? Ideally, you might want to keep them the same. ACID should have no problem resampling on the fly, but I've heard users having problems with something like the Sound Blaster Audigy. (Setting the sample rate to 48 kHz clears their problem up.) Also Rodney, what is the source drive of this file? Is it being played off your system drive, the CD-ROM, or a secondary hard disk? - Nick |
