Subject:24 bit recording, tempo increases?

I start a new project in ACID and drop in a drum loop. Then to record bass, I hit record, select 24 bit, 44 khz, and the tempo INCREASES when the record function starts rolling. In other words, the drums are playing too fast only in record mode. this is easily fixed by going back to 16 bit record mode, but how do I correct the issue for 24 bit recording of my bass? The problem seems to exist if the drumloop is either 16 bit or 24 bit. Thanks L |

It sounds like the sound card is set to 16-bit, 44,100Hz. Also make sure that your project properties are set to 24-bit. Ted |

Are you using an Audigy? If so, try setting to 16-bit/48 kHz, as this is what the Audigy does internally anyway. HTH, Iacobus |

Are you recording via the Layla 20's S/PDIF? Be sure the Layla's S/PDIF is slaving to the device you're recording from if that's the case. (That still wouldn't explain why you can record at 16-bit but not 24-bit though.) Might want to also check your cabling if using S/PDIF. Use a 75 Ohm RCA coaxial cable only. HTH, Iacobus |
