Been getting a bit over my head on the technical front trying to record with a borrowed digital mixer & RPC-1 (roland studio pack). I like Acid 4.0 and am looking for a simple but tight sounding sound card to record acoustic guitar (via XLR mics) along with my Acid mix (basically using Acid 4 as a multi-track recoder...with full duplex so I can hear myself as I am playing over the current mix)... Any suggestions... |

Also consider the choices offered from Echo or M-Audio. Iacobus |

If you're looking for the most inexpensive but also great quality, consider either the Echo Mia or the M-Audio Audiophile 2496. You can find the Mia for a little less than $200 and the Audiophile for about $180 if look around at places like Musician's Friend. Just make sure you make the right connections. The Audiophile, for example, has S/PDIF (RCA coaxial) I/O, RCA analog stereo I/O and MIDI I/O. The Mia doesn't have MIDI I/O but does have 1/4" TRS (balanced) I/O's and S/PDIF (also RCA coaxial) I/O. Both do 24-bit/96 kHz. HTH, Iacobus |
