Control Soft Synth with MIDI Keyboard & US-428? -ACID Product Family

I've got Win XP (big fast hardware) a Tascam US-428 and an Evolution MK261 & Yamaha CS1x but Acid has no response. The documentation is thin here as well, some help will be appreciated. PS If SF programmers are listening.... features request: 1) Support MIDI control of automation and program features (this is how the Tascam conrols Cubase) 2) Support Re-Wire for Reason 3) Better documentation of system preferences.
