I can't get the hang of using the Loop Region in Acid 4.0. In Acid 2.0 with the region active playback would start in the region. If the region was moved playback would jump and follow the region. This behaviour was useful for me but now playback only loops after the cursor has entered the region and stops looping if the region is moved. Why the change? How do people use the loop region as it exists in Acid 4.0? I'm often starting playback and expecting it to start in the loop region automatically but it doesn't. How to get used to the change? Back door to change this: WARNING: CHANGING SETTINGS IN THIS AREA COULD RESULT IN ACID NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY FORCING A REINSTALL OF ACID. ONLY CHANGE THE SETTING I INDICATE BELOW. 1. Hold down the Shift and Control Keys and select Preferences from the Option Menu. 2. You will get the ACID preferences page. 3. Select the "Internal" tab. 4. Type in "Only play loop region when looping" into the edit box at the bottom. 5. You will see a pref appear that is set to FALSE by default. 6. Double click on the value column "FALSE" and type in in the word TRUE. 7. Hit the tab key 8. Click OK. ACID will now slave to the current loop selection all the time, much like ACID 2.0. Peter |

This doesn't really matter at all...but you only have to hold down the shift key. ;-) |

Don't really know. My guess is to be consistent with Vegas. Peter |

It was changed in ACID 3.0 so that the user isn't always confined to the loop region if looping is turned on. In other words, so that you can "play into" the loop region, and get out of the loop region by moving the cursor, without having to disable looping. I had the same questions the first time I saw it in 3.0, but now prefer it quite a bit over the old method. HTH, Joel |
