Subject:missing feature in acid+found a new bug

1. What happened to the option to make the space bar "play/pause" instead of "play/stop" like in vegas? Please add to 4.0b.

2.Using the new automatable sofo track EQ I get tons of crackles and pops when I adjust parameters in realtime.(ie:while the track is playing) This does not happen when using the sonic timeworks EQ or PSP mixtreble plugin. Will be more thorough tomorrow.

Bug: F12 doesn't work as its supposed to. (ie:nomatter what window has "focus" it will always play/stop when pressed) This works fine in vegas 3.0c. please fix asap because I have this setup on my contour shuttle pro as the default method of playback.

Also the method of setting the focus to trackview by way of hitting "alt+0" doesn't work either.

Again...Add option for spacebar=play/pause and fix F12 so that I can get back to my usual working method I've developed while using vegas. Thanks.

BTW...can someone tell ANYONE working on soundforge 6 to please add the F12 feature to it as well. When I use the plugin chainer I have to use the same workaround. Very annoying after mixing in vegas to go to SF6 and have to change your workflow like that. Thanks again.

1. AFAIK, the spacebar was always playback/stop in ACID. You use Enter to pause.

2. I haven't had this happen to me.

F12 always plays back/stops no matter what window I'm on. Same with ALT+0.

Correction...F12 seems to only be broken using the sonic timeworks eq. Weird. I opened a track with a loop and added a mix of sofo plugins and timeworks stuff...when ever I had the timeworks eq "active"(ie:pressed)so you can adjust its parameters f12 fails to work[as well as alt+0]. As soon as I change to another plugin in added already to the chain the problem goes away.[?] But it doesn't happen with the timeworks mastering compressor...??? Now I'm confused.

I was asking sofo to ADD the "play/pause" feature because I've gotten really used to it working in vegas that when it goes back to "play/stop" in acid it really gets annoying. Back to work tomorrow. I'll post if things still are weird. Thanks for the headsup md.

Later.

Actually, this functionality exists with the Enter button and was something that bugging me for a while, and somebody finally implemented it. To do what you want to do, start playback, then press Enter to pause, then Enter to unpause from the location you paused at. Is that what you wanted?

I will be checking for a update for the timeworks plugin and will post if the problem persists...fighting off this freakin' cold for the last week so my productivity is at a all time low sorry.

In vegas's preferences dialog "general tab" you have an option of having the space bar function as "play pause" or the default "play/stop" by clicking a check box. I'm asking for continuity between these two apps thats all.

I have the F12 button setup as "button 7" on my contour shuttle pro. Working like this in vegas rules. Now when I go to acid and I want to stop I instinctively hit button 7[f12] and suddenly my cursor "jumps back" to the last place that I placed it. Now I have to at take the extra time to "find" my last location and continue working.

I can see this not being an issue for people who work mainly with just acid and not vegas. But at times I'm locked onto using vegas because of a project basically not calling for acid to be used. Then I jump to acid and...See what I mean[I hope].

Of course bugs come first...but a very close second to me is the spacebar "play/pause" function. Thanks.

Just program button 7 on the Contour to be <Enter> for Acid. I'm using the Countour to equalize Sonic Foundry and Cakewalk products. I'm so used to SF's zooming shortcuts, etc. Now SONARs shortcuts are the same.
