Subject:Couple Sound Forge of 6b bugs

- This doesn't seem to happen every time, but often if I go 'save as' then right click to create a new folder, Sound Forge locks up. Only happens sometimes - can't work out why and when - but is very annoying.

- On Sound Forge versions up to 5, if I copied a section of a file and then pasted many copies quickly in succession by holding down ctrl V, the software would keep up with me, ie paste quickly and when I released the keyboard the pasting would stop. Sound Forge 6 is very sluggish in this regard, and I am talking about very small files. Now, if I release ctrl V, there's sometimes a very long lag while Forge continues to paste. Very annoying - anyone else get this?

Thanks
Ben

Things to try:

1. Clean out your temp directory

2. Run Scandisk (Win9x/WinME) or chkdsk (Win2k/XP) on ALL drives/partitions

3. Upgrade to SF6.0d

I haven't seen this problem, so it might have been addressed in the latest update. HTH.

Kryten - thanks for your help. Cleared out some crap, updated to 6d and the directory crash problem seems to have disappeared. There's still that nasty lag when holding down CTRL-V to paste though.

While I'm on a roll, does anyone else find that CTRL-S doesn't work to save?

I rarely use the paste function, but I just now copied and pasted a 4:00 segment 6 times to the end of a 78:00 file, and each paste took 0.001 seconds to do. You might want to make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed. All the recent SF products seem to need at least v8.1. You might also want to do a defrag on your drive(s). Other than that, I really have no other ideas for you. HTH

Kryten - mine also says it takes 0.001 secs to paste, but still have the lag described above.

Running DX 8.1, regulary maintained/defragged hardrives, on a very fast P4 system. No similar problems with other audio software, and no paste lag with Sound Forge 4.5 or 5; only had this since version 6.

Anyone else experiencing this? It's not a major problem, but is very annoying...

(Again, while I'm here, does anyone else have problems using CTRL-S to save? This doesn't seem to always work - wierd).

Thanks
Ben
