Subject:Acid NOT releasing the sound card

When trying to use Sound Forge (or Wavelab) and Acid together, if I leave Acid to try and edit a track, I cannot play the edit in SF or Wavelab without closing Acid first. I have the appropriate boxed checked in the preferences dialog box. Acid does not seem to be releasing the soundcard to SF as it did in V 1-3. It does say that the media is offline in Acid when I go into SF, but still cannot play the track.

You have the "close ports on focus change" checked?

Are you using ASIO or Wave Classic?

I am using ASIO. It has worked fine in the 3 previous versions of acid.

The previous versions of ACID did not use ASIO, so this could be an ASIO issue.

Does the same problem occur if you switch to Wave Classic Drivers?

Switching to the classic wav driver fixes the problem!! Thanks. FMI is there any advantage to using the classic wav driver over the ASIO outside of fixing this problem?
