Subject:Acid NOT releasing the sound card

When trying to use Sound Forge (or Wavelab) and Acid together, if I leave Acid to try and edit a track, I cannot play the edit in SF or Wavelab without closing Acid first. I have the appropriate boxed checked in the preferences dialog box. Acid does not seem to be releasing the soundcard to SF as it did in V 1-3. It does say that the media is offline in Acid when I go into SF, but still cannot play the track. P2-400, 512 mg ram, Layla 20-5.06 driver (tried the 6.02 with same results), Creative live Pt, EZ bus. |

>>I have the appropriate boxed checked in the preferences dialog You have the "close ports on focus change" checked? Are you using ASIO or Wave Classic? Peter |

I am using ASIO. It has worked fine in the 3 previous versions of acid. |

The previous versions of ACID did not use ASIO, so this could be an ASIO issue. Does the same problem occur if you switch to Wave Classic Drivers? Peter |

Switching to the classic wav driver fixes the problem!! Thanks. FMI is there any advantage to using the classic wav driver over the ASIO outside of fixing this problem? |
