SF 6.0 keeps freezing during recording -Sound Forge - PC

I use a Gateway 1.7MHz P4 computer with both an SBLive Value and an Echo Gina (original version -- 20 bit), both with updated WinXP drivers. I use the Gina analog in to record into SF from my stereo system. Lately I've been trying to transfer whole cassettes into SF so I can move them to CDs, but the program keeps freezing up at random times. Sometimes its 12-15 minutes into the sound file; other times, it's right when I start recording. Once or twice, it even froze between when I loaded the program and when I got around to pushing the record button. I've tried to deal with this with the Gina board folks, but they haven't been able to suggest anything, so I thought I'd ask around here to see if anyone else had had (and solved) this problem.
