Hey all, I'm a beginner to Acid Pro and wanted to start on somthing simple, so i've decided to do a mix cd with some mp3's and blend them in acid pro. Now the only problem i'm having is that when i have finished with blending in all the mp3's I can only render it out as one song, what i want to do is where each new track starts i want there to be a new song, so you can jump to it on a cd player. Iam using Nero 5.5 to burn. Any help will much appreciated and please remember iam only a beginner in this field. Thanx |

You can do this in Nero: Render the mix to a single WAV file. Import the WAV file to Nero and then look at the properties of that file - you'll see a tabbed dialogue box; one of the tabs is something like 'indexes and splits' - click on that and you'll be able to insert track splits. (move the cursor and 'insert split') When you've done, get back to the main track list page (you'll see all of your tracks there) and then make sure that you set the track gap to 0 (it defaults to 2 seconds). Then burn - your mix CD is done... :) I've just been through all of this with a gig recording I've just done... Hope this helps, john.. |

It sounds like you're looking to burn a Disc-At-Once CD. In that case, you could also bring them into CD Architect 5(plug, plug ;), which is currently still in beta and downloadable from HERE. The second beta is quite nice. Note that you could probably do quite a bit or most of this work all in CD Architect, except that because of licensing, the beta of CD Architect doesn't import .mp3 files, though the retail version will do so just fine. Yeah I have two recommendations: 1. Get the CD Architect Beta to place tracks and burn the CD. You can even make regions in Sound Forge or Acid to insert as tracks in CD Architect. 2. Don't play this for a DJ. Unless it's really good, you'll just make him mad. There again, if it's bad enough, he/she'll laugh and you'll make his or her day. Good Luck, TeeCee |

In addition to what's been said, the full version of Sound Forge 6.0 only, not Sound Forge Studio 6.0, can extract regions from one file into several new files. I'd recommend an editor in any case, as it will greatly help in the mastering process (EQ'ing, compression, etc.). Iacobus |
