Subject:SoFo or anyone else: is this an "Edit Midi Event" Bug?

After recording a midi note pattern in Acid 4.0a, I went ahead and recorded a midi track of Control Change / Balance LSB information (basically a filter sweep) directly underneath it. As I go into the List Editor page of the Control Change / Balance LSB midi track and attempt to change a number value in the Data 2 column by right clicking on the field, selecting edit, and changing the CC(control change) value, I can change it fine. The bug comes up when I attempt to edit more than one field in the Data 2 column. If I change more than one field in the Data 2 column, I get an error which reads, " An error occured while processing the undo buffer. You should save your work immediately using a different file name and restart Acid". When I click ok, Acid 4.0a either lets me continue or closes (depending on how it feels it does either one). I can reproduce the error over and over again, however whether or not the program shuts down or not varies. I'm using the Windows Classic Wave Driver on a Pentium 4 1.8 GHZ, 768 RAM, Windows XP (super clean by the way), and Event EZbus. I just copied an pasted this to tech support, but I figured I'd ask here as well. Anyone out there with this problem? Merlyn |

Boy, do I ever recognize that error message! I was getting it frequently while I was trying to do some work in Acid 4.0 and 4.0a. I don't remember what I was doing at the time, but I don't think I was editing midi data. Or, if I was, I was probably just trying to change the patch in the list editor. But if that's what it was, the crash didn't occur until I tried to play it from the arrange page. I haven't had this error in quite a while, because I haven't been trying to work much in Acid lately. Waiting for the next upgrade. |

I hope this fix includes me. Awhile back, I wrote in with the same error message. I got it repeatedly while changing the midi patch on a track a few times in a row. Additionally, Sound Forge 5.0 will not let me edit an acid track while the track is in use in an open Acid project. Only after I save the Acid project can I reopen the file in Sound forge for editing and use in the acid project. An inconvenience??? Yes. Fixable??? Hope so... Fresnog |
