When I try to point Acid 4a to my VSTi instruments folder, it begins to read it and sees some of the instruments, but eventually crashes for some reason. My workaround is to create the default folder that acid uses. However, I should not have to create and duplicate all of my VSTi's so Acid can see them. I just want to keep one copy of the VSTi's on my machine. What to do???? P2 400, 512 Mg ram, Layla 20, Ez bus, Soundblaster 5.1 Pt, Win ME (yes it IS working fine believe it or not!!!), Win classic wav driver |

clarksil, It's pretty apparent that one of the VSTi's that is in that folder is what is causing the crash. If you don't feel like swapping groups of VSTi's in and out until you locate the offending instrument, perhaps posting a list of what you have here could help. Maybe someone else has also experienced the trouble you are having with a specific instrument. Do the crash details give any hint as to which VSTi is causing trouble? What is the module name it displays? Nate |

Seems to work fine now, however it didn't see my most used plugins (EVP73, FM 7 and Lounge Lizard) without me going into the registry and deleting the keys for VSTi's and then refreshing the list. Very strange. Nevertheless, it is working fine now. |

Try adding the VSTi's back in this order FM-7 (v1.1) Lounge Lizard and then EVP-73 when you add each one open Acid enable the VSTi play midi and the close it down and add the next. I hope this helps George Ware |

Actually, Acid won't even recognize them no matter where I put them, i.e. in the program files/vst plugins folder, or the Cubase vst plugins folder. As I said previously, if I delete the keys in the registry, then rescan the vsti's, they are recognized again, but this is very strange. At least I have a workaround. |
