sounds impossible but true. i stacked 62 tracks around a vocal yet the song sounds like its missing things. usually i can intantly tell what it is but this time its tough for me to pinpoint the trouble. listen and tell me what you'd add to this: http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=213954&T=240 |

I like. It really doesn't sound minimal to me. Sounds full. (I listened to the MP3.) Were you aiming for something busier sounding? Maybe add an underlying drone? Iacobus |

the thing is...i had no aim on this one. what you heard are the first and only things that came to mind. even after listening to the competition and what they've done, i don't 'hear' anything more to add yet it sounds so empty to me. the tracks/ideas (cutting & scratching, backward vox etc.) i omitted seem to have no place in that groove... am i getting old or have i finally come across one that needs no more? |

It's really good. I like it a lot. If you really are looking for something to "richen it" I could hear some stereo acoustic guitar outlining the chord structure in arpeggios, maybe. I don't really think it needs it, though. |

You might've come across something that needs no more--often the key to great art (and great haircuts <g>) is simply knowing when to stop. If I were to add anything in, I'd pepper it with a couple flange-y sweeps to accent parts, but that's it. I really like it as-is though--the vocals stand out nicely, and the effecting on them is done "just right". :) Joel |
