Hi I record from my turntables to my computer using RCA cables. I've read that 32 bit recording will produce a cleaner sound then 24 or 16 bit. However when I record at 32 or 24 bit and play my recording back, it makes a pop/distorted noise everytime the bass hits. I've recorded at very low levels just to make sure my levels aren't too high. When I record at the exact same level on 16 bit, the popping/distorted sound goes away. Why is this? Also is the sound difference really that much better at 32 bit as opposed to 16 bit? If I were to burn a 32 bit recording to a CD to play in my car, do CD's support 32 bit? Any Help would be greatly appreciated!! |

CD's do not support 32bit. CD's are 16 bit, with a sampling frequency of 44.1Khz. Your sound card may not support playback of 32bit or 24 bit files, so that may be the reason why you get the popping noise. |
