Trying to get a Cassette player to work -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Trying to get a Cassette player to work Posted by: JohnGunther Date:11/23/2002 6:06:19 PM I have hooked up a cassette player to the "Microphone" on the computer, I can hear the voice thru the computer speakers but don't know how to get the record method to pickup the microphone. Any suggestions.

The mic input will be mono and will probably end up being very distorted. Double click the little yellow speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen to bring up your sound card's mixer control panel. Choose Options / Properties / Recording. This is where you choose which input gets recorded (which doesn't have to be the same as the input you hear through the speakers, hence your ability to hear the sound that didn't get recorded). You can also set the volume level here.
