Hi We have a very strange phenomenon. In SF6d on W2K with a LynxTWO sound card, we have been working without problems for weeks. Now suddenly, recording is no longer possible from within SF. The incoming sound is visible on the meters of the Lynx mixer, and can be recorded in Vegas, but not in SF. It gets worse: as soon as SF is started, and exited again, other applications (like Vegas) will no longer record, saying that the sound channel is in use. I uninstalled SF, reinstalled it, and at first startup it worked again (being logged in as administrator). After logging in as an ordinary user, the problem is back. Logging in again as administrator does not help, SF record is "broken" again... Is there any known problem with user rights or user-dependent conflicts ? It's a bit inconvenient to reinstall SF eacht time we want to record something ;-( Thanks for any suggestions that might help Marc |

Did you install Win2k SP3 then start to have the problem? If so, uninstall the SP and see if the problems continue. XP SP1 came out about the same time and a lot of people have had some audio problems after installation of that SP. HTH. |
