Subject:Editing camcorder audio

I recently filmed some scenes of a family reunion using a Sony DV camcorder. I found that a few conversations were not picked up very well with the camcorder's microphone and are barely audible. I'm new to SoundForge 6. Can anyone provide some good tips and suggestions on how to edit the audio to enhance the conversation audio while minimizing background noise? I have basic soundboard and 4-track experience.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
