I'm having a problem using Sound Forge effects within Sonar. It seems that the computer can't handle it if I choose certain effects, such as graphic or multi-band dynamics or time stretch in Sonar environment. The thing is, however, it doesn't seem to be related to CPU or memory -- my play back stutters (actually it appears that the computer can't keep the steady time, because the tempo seems to vary and accelerate -- at least that's what I see when I see the Sonar's clock). Even when the file contains only one audio file and the CPU indicator shows that it's not using CPU to its full capacity. It doesn't matter if I only have one effect engaged, either. The problem goes away sometimes when I mute the effect in question. Other effects I can stack many of them and the computer is fine. So it seems that Sonar doesn't like certain SF effects. I wonder if anybody has any experience with something like this. I'm using SF5 with Sonar 2.0. Thanks! |

Cakewalk products handle certain types of non-in-place plug-ins incorrectly (well, they'd say "differently"). Several XFX2 effects simply will not work in Sonar. This has been a long debate and something they are not willing to correct (note that all these effects work in Vegas just fine <g>). J. |

Hmmmm! Well anyway, dont use the SF noise gate in Sonar - or it's off to hell in a handbasket! |
