Can't get files to play -Sound Forge - PC - MAGIX Community Forums Archive

I hope somebody can help me out here! I'm a new Sound Forge Studio user. I recorded my first file, a half-hour interview tape. It seemed to record well, and the final file was 300 Megs!! I saved it as a RealMedia file and also as an MP3 file. When I go to play the files on my computer, the dialogue boxes indicate that the files are playing and the sound is working, but no sound comes out. I allowed over a minute for the RealAudio player to build up a buffer, still no. I recorded a very short file as a test on SoundForge, could hear it when it was recording, went to play it back, no sound. I ran sound diagnostics on my computer and it said everything is working, I get sound when I play other files. I suspect I'm doing something very simple wrong, but I don't know what it is. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
