Anyone have a problem with: (1) Sound Forge 6.0 crashing when you click on the Search tab in the help screen, type in a search term, and then hit the "List Topics" button? Or: (2) Moving a dockable window and the whole GUI goes nuts, erases itself and freezes?

(1) If the version of Sound Forge you are running shows "QuickTime 5" as one of the available render formats, that is likely the cause of your system locking up in help search. The problem has to do with the plugin not initializing properly and as a result not tidying things up very well if that happens. Do one of the following to work around this:

a. Install QuickTime 5.0.2 or later. You'll need to do a Custom install, and be sure to include the authoring components (I recommend installing everything as it appears there are more cross-dependencies among the components than in earlier QT versions, particularly if you plan to render to QuickTime).

or,
b. If you don't need to read or write QuickTime files (.mov) then find qt5plug.dll under Sound Forge 6.0's install folder and rename it to something else. That way Sound Forge won't try to use it.

(2) I'm not sure about this one. Perhaps the workaround above will correct this too?

I'm gonna try renaming it cuz I don't need Quicktime at all as far as I can see, at least for now and the not too distant future...I did get a warning that I "may not be able to use it", but...hey, maybe I should disable it in my acid and vv3 where it asks what formats you want these apps to be akin to...
