Subject:Mastering question

I´m mastering in 24 bits using waves plugins.
After dithering down to 16 bits with L2 Ultramaximizer to be able to burn the song to cd, the file is still 24 bits. Do i simply use save as.. and save it as a 16 bit file? Or is there anything else i should do?

help would be appreciated
