I have Sound Forge 5.0.
I have made my "song" it is about 11 secounds long,
And I was woundering how to make it suround sound 6.0 or 5.1 (Dolby Digital)?
Can I do this with 5.0 or do I have to upgrade?
Can I even do it with the upgrade?

At the moment, SonicFoundry's only 5.1 editor is in ACID 4. We're assuming this will also be a function of Vegas 4, but that's just an assumption at this point. The Dolby encoder isn't ready yet but we should be seeing that very soon. I doubt any version of SoundForge will support 5.1 since it's a dedicated two channel editor.

So I need to buy ACID 4.
Then I can change it to 5.1?

I got the demo of ACID Pro 4 and it only saves as .acd!
When I clicked "Edit is SF 5.0" It said .acd was unsuported!

You cannot edit ACD files externally in Sound Forge. ACD is proprietary to ACID only.

You have to simply record your track in ACID first, then use the "Edit in Sound Forge 5.0" command.

In addition, you cannot encode to 5.1—yet. You'll need the forthcoming 5.1 Surround Plug-In Pack for ACID 4.0 (which is an additional purchase) and the ACID 4.0b update once that's released. As it stands right now, you can render your ACID surround projects in six separate mono tracks and use something like a DVD authoring program to create your 5.1 surround mix.

I can't suggest any programs off the bat, as I don't do that kind of work. Anyone?
