Double click between two markers and the selection inlcudes an additional sample outside of the right hand marker...

Is this a bug? Is there a way around it?

Yep. I haven't exactly found a way, other than to simply drag the right edge over to the next sample.

It is a "drag," isn't it?

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

Sound Forge treats the selection endpoint as inclusive, so it is "including" the second sample in the selection by highlighting past it.

We plan to make selection endpoints exclusive in 7.0, to better follow the ACID/Vegas paradigm.

Ahh...that would explain it.

While you're here, Jason, is there anything you (or anyone else at SoFo) can say about the present (and future?) state of SoFo's apps? I'm getting rather sick and tired of the doom and glooming over at the ACID forum. I'd say something but my word isn't official, plus I'm ready to flame back at what amounts to pure speculation. (As if I'm supposed to take Ken Melville's words as gospel.)

It'd just be nice to have some official word to fire back with.

Thanks as always,
Iacobus

Iacobus, given he just mentioned Sound Forge 7.0, and the fact that Vegas 4.0 was mentioned by SonicEPM in the AC-3 forum awhile back...it's kind of encouraging news to me!

Well, uh, no, I can't say anything because I honestly don't know anything. Only the executive team knows _exactly_ what is going on. Ask anyone else and you're just getting best-guesses and rumors.

We will continue to work on all our products in business-as-usual fashion until we are directed otherwise by management. Anything less would simply be unprofessional.

Here's a 26 minute Voice conference with Rimas. No definite statements, just a little insight of the direction of the company is going to take as far as the corporate "mediasite live" direction. In summary, basically SF is going in the direction of tarketing corporate software needs, because the market for Audio/Video has not been strong. Personally, I think this will be a bad direction in the long run. You're entering into direct competition with Microsoft, which most corporations will choose microsoft products over outside vendors, although an outside vendors program may even be better.

Listen for yourself. BTW, I used Sound Forge to record the broadcast, and then did a little noise reduction and then burned it to CD, so I could digest what was going on.
