Subject:need advice

Hello everyone,
it seems that Im having a little problem getting material into sound forge. I have just insalled a MD player to transmit to my pc via optic link. When I go into SF to record the incoming data as a .wav file I can see the levels on the meters fluctuating and I can record but when I stop the recording all i have is a flatline instead of the digital represintation of the music I saw on the meter...so anyone have any ideas?
