Subject:Directx plugins dissappeared!!!

i have been using sound forge 5.0 for a good while now and then one day all of a sudden all my direct x plugins dissappeared from the directx menus at the top of the window. as a matter of fact the menus disappeared themselves. can somebody tell me what happened? does anyone have any idea how this happened?
