Subject:vox files

It seems that when you save audio as a .vox file that Sound Forge brings the file back up as a 16-bit files rather than 4-bit. This is with using SF 5 and the Delta 1010. If this is a limitation of the Delta, is there some other way to verify the resulting file to confirm the conversion is OK?
