Alright, so I want to put two seperate music files together, and I'm pretty sure Sound Forge can do that. How would I go by doing that? Also, is it possible to remove the lyrics from a song if it was recorded on a different track? |

There a few ways to mix two files together. Try opening two files and then selecting all the data in one window (CTRL+A on your keyboard), drag it on over to the other window, and then while holding down your primary mouse button, click your secondary mouse button to toggle between the various pasting methods—mix, paste and crossfade. You actually might be better served by other apps such as ACID Pro or Vegas for this purpose, as those apps will allow you to layer tracks. Not really to the second question. Sound Forge is a stereo digital audio editor, not a multitrack app. The only way to get the vocals out of a song is if you were to go back to the original project itself (in whatever way it was done) and simply not include the vocals when mastering. Thanks for the info, but when I mix the music, it says the source sample rate is lower than the destination sample rate. When i put the two together, it sounds as if the lyrics are going superspeed and you can't hear anything except for high pitched gurgling. How do I set it so that the lyrics are in their original form when blended in with my music? |

Load each file into SoundForge, select one by clicking it's title bar > File > Properties > General tab, check the attributes then check the other's. Use Process > Resample and or Bit Depth converter in that order to resample/convert to the lowest file's attributes. MJ |
