Hi, I bought SFS6 a few months ago and am just now starting to use it. I am trying to split a .wav file into seperate tracks to then be burned to a cd with ECDC5 with DAO. I have 6.0d build 219. I have placed markers where I want the tracks and if I press alt-1, a region list is displayed. However, under the Region List, I do not have a Markers to Region option and I also do not have an Extract Regions option unde the Tools menu. Are these simple options just not available with SFS6? The help file says they should be there. Do I really have to spend $250.00 to upgrade? If I try to display a playlist, it tells me I need to upgrade to SF6. I am thinking I really don't need a playlist the way I think I do but maybe SFS6 is different. I was using a program called Diamond Cut or something like that before and it worked pretty well until I started using XP Pro. I was hoping SFS6 would be a good substitute. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great weekend!! Mike Day mikeday@socket.net |

The steps in the "studio" version are a bit more manual. Double-click between markers to highlight that region, Ctrl-C to copy, Ctrl-E to paste to new file, save that new file, repeat with the next region, etc. |

Chienworks, Thanks for the info. I will try that and see if that works. To make it more "automated", I guess I need to fork over the extra $250.00. Seems pricey but it might be worth it. Mike |

I've got the full version, and while i don't use very many of the features it offers, the few i do use speed up my work immensely. The time savings alone of automatically exporting regions has probably paid back the cost of the upgrade several times over. |

I can already see how it would be worth it. Manually exporting the regions is a long time consuming process. I am planning on upgradeing to SF6 this week. Thanks for the input, Chienworks! Mike |
