I have a destination wav that is incomplete (fades in), and a source wav that has the beginning of the song intact. I want to crossfade 2:15.973 of source wav over the first 0:07.515 of destination wav. I copy the first 2:15.973 from source wav, highlight the first 0:07.515 of destination wav, and hit Paste Special ... Crossfade. It should paste my two minutes of stuff over my seven seconds of stuff, cross-fading where they join, right? Well SF Studio 6.0 seems to be pasting over the entire first 02.15.973 of my destination wav, leaving the total file time the same and utterly defeating my purpose. Help?

I'm not sure if i'm following you exactly, but it sounds like you're starting with the latter part of the final result on the screen first, then trying to paste the earlier part on top of it. Try going the other way. Start with the section that will play first, then paste/crossfade the other section onto the end of that.
