Subject:Real Media files not saving with url data

I have a series of Sound Forge (pca) audio files that I have edited and added info (url command tags) to. In order to put them up on my streaming server I have been saving them down into different formats. Windows media seems to work fine holding the tags and calling the htmls on playback, but when I save into Real Media I lose the tags. Any idea why this might be?

I'm using Sound Forge 6.0(d,) and I would really like to use Batch Converter 5.0 to do the whole series of files if I can figure out how to keep the metadata.

Appreciate your thoughts,

This is a known bug that will be fixed in the next update. There's a workaround. Instead of using the Command dialog, just insert a regular marker and rename it

"RM URL:http://www.whatever.com"

I actually have 25 hour-length audio files with literally hundreds of command tags in them - is there any way to automatically convert these command markers into regular markers without having to re-type each one?

Well, this is a little ugly, but is the quickest way I could think of. If you are cautious it should work fine.

1) open a file with CMD markers
2) Special->Region->Save As, save the list as Windows Media Script File (*.txt)
3) open the resultant .txt file in WordPad or Word or whatever
4) search and replace CMD with RM, save the modified .txt file
5) Special->Regions List->Open your modified .txt file
6) File->Save As to .rm
7) close the original, but do not save changes
8) repeat 1-7 for each file

The next update should be out some time in February, so if you can wait, that might be a better option. Sorry for all this inconvenience. Really dumb bug.

J.
