I have been using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card for the audio. It sounds OK, but I would like something better because I would like to do some audio CD's as well as the videos. What would you recommend? I do have an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 and a small mixer called an M-Audio Buddy. Is this a decent combination? I haven't installed either yet, but I do know that the sound card will require Windows Media Player 7.1 or higher to play CD's and that a software midi synthesizer will have to be installed. It sounds like a bit of a nuisance. If you have something better in mind please let me know. Thanks in advance, John

Windows Media Player works fine with it (as Windows Media Player plays CD's digitally rather than through your CD-ROM's internal CD audio connector). I believe the default wavetable software MIDI synth that comes with Windows works fine with it as well. (I know I haven't had any problems playing MIDI files.) Isn't the Audio Buddy a mic preamp/DI box? I'm not sure how you'd interface it with the Audiophile, other than with adapters or through a mixer. The Audio Buddy uses 1/4" and XLR, whereas the Audiophile has RCA phono, S/PDIF and MIDI only. HTH, Iacobus
