Subject:thickening up vocals

What effects could I use to thicken and overall improve a vocal track?
Could you also suggest good settings to use?

Start with some compression, but be carefull cause it will make transients thicker as well. add some delay, perhaps some reverb as well. With compression on vocals I tend to go through the track word by word and manually lower s, p, c sounds that sound unnaturual. This is time consuming but it is worth the effort.

Try having the singer sing it again on another track.
