Subject:SF5 error - filesize ok but can't open file - HELP!

Hey All, I recently recorded a file at a friend's place, he's running SF5 and when we saved the file, it went very slowly, and finally reached the 100% mark, but then his machine (windows 2000) rebooted itself and when we came back up it couldn't get the file to open in anything. The only clue I have is that I dropped a marker at absolute zero before we started recording, and I've never done that before. The SFK file is intact, but I'm just not sure what to do at this point. Any help is greatly appreciated! Two more clues: 1. when trying to open the file in SF 5, I get the "An unknown error occurred saving extra embedded information. The additional information will be ignored" error. 2. When trying to play the file before opening in SF's File>>Open dialog, the play button is active, but pushing it produces no sound. Cheers, -ix |

My only suggestion is that you could try opening the file in Forge as a 'raw file' - look for this extension in the drop-down file type list. Don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a go. Ben |
