Hi,
I am Sound Forge 5.0 Customer from Brasil.

My Question:
How I can put all audio files I have already recorded in the same volume?
In Brasil the people in the Sudio call "Masterização".
Some people say me in the audio softwares is call "Normalize",(??) but I don't
know.
I am not advanced user.
I need STEP by STEP how to do that.

I want burn my some piano performance pieces in CD with Nero 5.5.10, and I don't
find one way to put all in the same volume before that.
(Put all files in the same volume using my Sound Forge 5.0)

Thanks a lot for any help!!!

Jeeze Carlos - A little less of that Brazilian coffee please, or are you on speed ?

Q1 To get all the tracks normalise them before burning to disk.

Q2 To burn them to disc from SF, follow the instructions in the help or manual to write Track At Once tracks, then finish by 'Closing ' the disc.

geoff

Ola Amigo....tudo bem? Meu esposa é de Sao Paulo, Brasil.
I think maybe you been drinking too many Cypalinga or Binga's.

"Masterização" is called "mastering" in the U.S. Unfortunately the question you're asking can not be given in a 1,2,3 step by step process. The best information someone can give you in this forum is some techniques that may have worked for them. It's similar as asking "How do I MIX a song?" You can ask 100 different people and they will give you 100 different answers with 100 different variations depending on the music. Your studio friends are correct in that your music will need "Masterização". This will take time with reading and learning from experience, just like mixing.

For your needs, probably the best thing you can do to get your music at the same volume is too Normalize all of them using "Peak Level" and set the left volume control to "0dB". Then assemble all of your songs in Nero. Now find the loudest song and the lowest volume song. Then lower the volume of the loudest one to match the volume of the lowest one in Nero. Do this same lowering of volume to all the tracks until they all have the same level.

Another thing you could try is Normalization of each song with "Average RMS Power" and set the left volume slider to a value between -16dB to -12dB.

These are the easiest ways to achieve what you want, but you will probably see a few of those 100 different variations after this post.

boa sorte,
