Subject:Inserting RM Commands using Sound Forge 6

What's the deal with Sound Forge 6's (version 6.0d) supposed ability to be able to insert RealMedia Commands like "URL", "HotSpotBrowse", and "HotSpotPlay" into video clips? I ask because I can not get it to work at all. I've tried it on 3 different PCs so far (Win2k), and the commands are simply not being recognized.

I thought it might be some kind of security setting that needs to be enabled in the RealOne Player preferences, but I wasn't able to find anything. And besides, I've successfully tested the inserting of URL events using Adobe Premiere 6.5, so I know it isn't a security setting. It's almost as though there's a bug in the RealMedia export module where it is ignoring the embedded commands. Either that or the module was never intended to be compatible with the RealOne Player, but, rather, with the older RealPlayer 8 (perhaps over some licensing issue).

Here are a couple of examples of my command syntax:

URL:http://www.yahoo.com

HotSpotBrowse:00:01:30.0 (0,0,100,100) "<Sonic Foundry>" <http://www.sonicfoundry.com>

Does anyone know what the deal is? Why aren't the commands being recognized?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
- yvan@atzilut.com

This is a known bug that will be fixed in the next update. There's a workaround. Instead of using the Command dialog, just use the old syntax. Insert a regular marker and rename it, e.g.

"RM URL:http://www.whatever.com"

This only affects Real Media saves. WMF/ASF will pick up CMD markers properly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
