Is it possible to open up an mp3 for example Nirvana- You know your right and edit/record so its possible to be as if you are singing with nirvana, so it is your recording with the mp3 that you could then save as a new mp3 file
Thx

You could mix your vox with that of Nirvana's song, but be aware that Sound Forge is not a multitrack app. You'd more than likely have to overdub somehow by playing the MP3 externally via a media player and route it via your soundcard's software mixer, which you would select as the type of input for recording in Sound Forge.

Your mic would also be routed through the mixer as well so your vox get recorded along with it.

Vegas or ACID might help you out in this area, as you would simply be able to bring in the song as separate track and record over it.
