I used to be able to record anything that was coming out of my speakers with soundforge(ver 5.0), be it off the net, video or external, now I seem to have lost this. The only things that I have installed since are cubase vst score 5.1 and a few codecs related to divx and avi's, although I think cubase is responsible. could anybody help, am I missing an obvious setting?, I have told sf to ignore my video related stuff but this has not solved the problem, I hope somebody can help cos I'm out of ideas, thanks, Eucrid.

Double-click on the little speaker icon in the task bar to bring up the sound card's mixer control panel. Click Options, Properties, Recording, OK. Probably either the line in or microphone inputs are currently selected. You'll want to choose the one labelled something like "what you hear", "pc speaker", or "mixed output".
