experiencing 5 second freezing/pauses -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:experiencing 5 second freezing/pauses Posted by: miamre Date:3/13/2003 12:36:57 AM i used to have a pentium 3 450MHZ computer with 384MB of SDRAM, running soundforge 4.5c and everything worked just fine. i have since upgraded to a Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 533 FSB 512MB of DDR RAM windows 98SE quantum fireball 40 GB 7200 RPM drive and am still using the same version of soundforge. i am now experiencing REALLY ANNOYING time delays/pauses....for instance, when i open a file(around 4-5 minutes in length), my computer seems to freeze for 5 seconds(i can't move the cursor or playback)....and i experience a 5 second pause after i make an edit...especially deleting part of the file. my drives are newly formatted. can anybody please help me? it would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!
