Subject:Applying reverb over time

Hello all...

I'm sure to some this may be a simple question but I have never been able to figure this out...

How do I apply reverb to a section of audio and have that reverb effect change (in this particular case get stronger) over time. For instance at the start it is barely noticeable, but by the end the wet signal is very noticeable and the dry signal is less pronounced as if the "band" is drifting off into the distance?

BTW - I'm using SF 6.0 also still have my 4.5 installed as well.

Thanks...
Mark

Easily done on regular mixer... not easy in SF. The only way I can think of is: Assuming you want to do this on the end of a song. First Make back-up copies!!
Copy the section you want the rev on. Process with just the reverb, (very little or no dry signal), Save and Copy Go back to the original piece and do a fade. Paste the reverb in using the Mix fucntion. This will probably take a LOT of trial and error.
Again make back-up copies before you start!!
Maybe someone else can think of an easier way.

rraud: that's exactly what i would suggest. The only thing i'll add is a warning to watch out for Sound Forge's crossfade function; it doesn't preserve constant volume. The middle of the fade will be noticeably quieter than start and end. This can be corrected with a carefully applied graphic fade.

Yeah that could work but it's way more work than should be required.....Fortunately while waiting for an answer I hopped over to the Cool Edit Pro forum and found out that it is possible using the real-time effects and the wet/dry envelopes in the multitrack view. I have CEP 2.0 but prefer working with Sound Forge when editing single waves....Boy I wish SF had this.

Thanks anyway for the assistance. Much appreciated.

Sound Forge should have come with the Vegas LE. You could do this with Vegas just as easily.

Vegas 4 can do this, as mentioned Sound Forge should come with a version of Vegas LE. Cubase SX also has this ability.
