Im kind of new to these programs so bear with me. I have a few questions and any help would be appreaciated. 1. Sound forge includes a keyboard. How do I put the sounds from the keyboard into a track? If it cant be done then whats the best program for making beats and adding sound to existing beats? 2.When your recording your voice on a beat does sound forge let you double it(record your voice once and record over it to give a smoother sound)? Also after you record the chorus once how do you use that same recording and tranfer it to the rest of the choruses? If sound forge isnt the best program for all this can someone please tell me the best one out there? 3. I heard analog x is the best vocal removal program. Does anyone know of something better? Thanks in advance to everyone |

1) SoundForge refuses to record the output of it's built-in keyboard. Why? Dunno. Seems like quite the strange mystery to me. If you launch just about any other audio software, even Windows SoundRecorder, and set the sound card to record "what you hear", then that other program can record SoundForge's keyboard. 2) SoundForge is not a multitracking program. You can use the procedure mentioned above to do "sound on sound" style recording by bouncing back and forth between two instances of SoundForge running simultanously (with version 6) or SoundForge and some other program (if less than version 6). Better yet, take a look at Vegas which is a multitracking application. 3) There are no good vocal removers. |

Sound Forge is just for audio editing. you can create, edit and change samples and loops. if you want to use the samples and loops together to make a song you will need a sequencer. ACID 4.0 by Sonic Foundry is a good example. with this program you can use several samples and loops together to create a song. check out the demo on this site if you haven't tried it yet. :) |

The keyboard not recording is the weirdist thing I heard. Luckly I did get sound forge just for better editing, it just seemed like it might have a few extras. Guess I was wrong. Though I'll definatly use your tip of using another divice to record the keyborad from SF. Acid mabye like ATP suggessted. Thanks for the help guys, those questions were buring a hole in my head. |
