Having just received the new Sound Forge 6, I'm greatly disappointed, and I seriously question whether I'd get further Sonic Foundry updates.
When I attempted to register via the registration mode within the program, it froze my system (win xp) on two attempts.
When I burned a CD audio track and then closed the CD, the result was an audio track full of crackles...thus making the audio track worthless. You can get better results from a cheaper program: Easy CD Creater.
Who knows what further bugs await us who were foolish enough to upgrade to version 6 of Sound Forge. For those who haven't yet made the purchase...save your money and avoid the grief.

Feel better now??

Please do not ASSume your problems are typical.
Did you contact tech support? Did you post here asking if you could get help? I know the answer to the second is no, this is your only post on this forum.
My install went fine(also on XP), and no crackles to speak of.
Get a grip!

Same here. Install went fine on Win XP.

Sound Forge 6.0 is so indispensible to me that I wouldn't be caught dead without it.

Just had time to get back to this site, and I saw your input.
Sonic Foundry acknowledged they had a problem...and provided a fix.
But what do they know, when compared to your words of wisdom.
Get a life.

"But what do they know, when compared to your words of wisdom."

They know to contact customer support or ask other users first and then bitch later if their problem isn't solved. Seems you could have learned that from these "Wise" people jackass.

Why do you assume that the problem is with SF6 rather than something 'rooted' in your computer ? SF have provided 5 updates to SF6, though none may fix your possibly unrelated problem.

I dunno, I think it might be your computer. I had no problem with the technical aspect of SF 6, its just the features were a little infirior then what I was inatially expecting.
