1. File | Open 2. Record, choose digital device (ie spdif port) as input device That eliminates 2 of the vagaries of your question... geoff |

You forgot to set your word clock to "External" :-) Now how about extracting from CD's? How about opening audio from a CD rom? How about extracting the audio from a sampler format CDrom? How about getting the audio from an Mpeg? How about getting it from an external device that doesn't have spdif, like an ADAT, or DA-88? How about getting Sound Designer II information off of a backed up DAT tape? I may be reaching now, but you get the point. They're all "digital information" aren't they? |
