OK - this is what I'm trying to do, but my Sound Forge skills are not where I would like them to be: I have a sample CD of drum hits. Many of the 'tracks' consist of multiple hits of a drum with silence between the hits. For example a 90-second track comprising 40 kick drums with a bit of silence between each sound. I would like to save each of these 'hits' as a separate wave sound sample that I can load into my sampler of choice. Is there a way - using Sound Forge 5.0 - to quickly accomplish this without having to do a load of manual work identifying each hit, deleting the others, saving, reload, start again? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Mark |

Isn't that typical? I think I've just seen what I need in the manual: the 'Auto Region' tool, and the 'Extract Regions' tool. Will this work? I'll try that tonight. Mark |

Either that, or highlight a section and drag (or Cut/Paste) it onto some empty spot on the SForge workspace to create a new file. geoff |
