Subject:Recording appears only as .cda file when burned

I have recorded some speeches onto my hard drive using SF 5. On the hard drive they appear as .wav or .mp3, whichever way they are saved, but when I burn to disc I get only the .cda file and not the .wav or .mp3. It's all there on the disc, but I can't get to the actual file. I want to be able to upload the speech onto a web site. It has given the same result whether I burn from SF or pull the file from the hard drive into the burner program. I am using Nero OEM 5.5.10.9 to burn. It came with a Digital Research CD-RW drive. Can anyone tell me how I can get to the actual file? Thanks, Leslie |

Audio/music CDs will be *.cda, read by CD players. Use Nero and choose to burn a "Data" CD. You will then be able to burn files in their original format. Data CD's will basically only be read by PCs however. MJ |

To expand, SF5 writes only audio CDs. As in CDs playable in CD players. If yu want to save a data (ie the original wav, or a mp3 type format) you need an app that writes to CD-ROM. Easy CD Creator, Nero, etc, etc. XP has even this built in as a native drag-drop function. geoff |
