No problem--by the way, you can really hit em---LOL

I might have made the ball hit sound just a bit more on beat with the intro music.
All in all very nice work!

David - Do a spell check? Weigh=Weight. You should see my spillng here on Vigus Feram!! Miserable aint I!!!

Teriffic work! - Interested in other "+ve" feedback? I'd have removed the " 1) " brackets from the items - you don't need them. Also, when creating a list for instructions/commands/ideas place them left justified. Placing these type of graphic elements in a regimented order is better to follow - I'm not searching for the next line with the commands being "centre justified", so . . .

1 Do this first

2 Do this next

3 Do this after last thing

Oh yeah, put a line space between each line - need not be the same height as the font height. Looks better.

This is fine material - there's more I could say along the lines of snazzy stuff to make the thing hang together and be more . . . how can one say this . . . Served Well! - Thanks for sharing. Do you wanna see what I could do with a small snippet of it? I'd like to have a go - interested?

Grazie

watson, i didn't want to strike the ball to the beat of the music because i wanted people to hear the "POP" of the ball hitting the racket--but thnx for the idea

Grazie, thanks for the comments
first--my spelling is terrible, but those were typos
i actually spelled two words wrong--ouch
also, i think you're correct about the brackets and not centering them
next video i will do this

finally, do you want me to send you the dv tape--you could definitely have a go at it
my pleasure
you can email me info at

Nice editing work. More slow motion would make it a bit more visually interesting, maybe (IMHO) but I have heard that slo-mo isn't a very good teaching technique. I think I heard that at a golf clinic. So your choices seem pretty good. I do entertainment stuff, so whatever choices I make, you should do the opposite :-) Along those lines, how does it look/feel without music at all?

Also, I would put up one last "slide" at the end, reviewing the key points. This comes from an "effective presentation" class I slept thro.... attended.

Again, nice work.

Nice overall, but... need polish.

I felt raced watching it. Bad form for an INSTRUCTIONAL video. I would have built in some pauses between each step... this allows the viewer to digest what he's just seen. To me, it all when by as a blur, I didn't like the feel the instructor seemed like he was rushing through it just to get done. Once you stopped and showed a still of the hand positions. Should have been LOTS more of that. The hitting of the ball was way too loud and didn't sound natural. Also more times than not the shot is too far away. Every instructional video for sports I've seen, used more closeups. Also slowmotion to better illustrate WHAT the instructor is trying to illustrate.

i agree with mcgeedo and billyboy--i did feel rushed
i wanted to keep the video under 2-minutes
there is a lot of info to convey
if it were 5 minutes, i could do a much, much, much better job
i think i may retool and put out 3 videos: beginner, intermediate and advanced
this way, i can go slower.
the reason i like the far away shot is that you get a good feel for how fast the ball travels
especially, how it skips off the court
overall, i am happy with it
but i see where i have to make changes
thnx all

Can't keep it at 2 minutes if the material demands more. Instructional video is driven by content, not the clock. If you can do a better job in 5, do it in 5. An instructional video that doesn't take the time to instruct doesn't work. --- Another note: If you find yourself defending your shots they're probably the wrong shots.
